Job Overview:
The English Teacher (Secondary Section) will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive English lessons, fostering strong language skills, and encouraging a passion for literature and communication among students. The ideal candidate must have extensive subject knowledge, innovative teaching strategies, and the ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment. This role requires adherence to KHDA guidelines and a commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured English language and literature lessons for (Secondary Section) students.
- Develop lesson plans in accordance with KHDA educational standards and the school’s curriculum.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies, storytelling, discussions, and technology to enhance student engagement.
- Assess, evaluate, and monitor student progress through assignments, projects, and exams.
- Provide extra support and remedial sessions for students requiring additional assistance.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive, structured, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to ensure active participation and respect.
- Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical, and creative writing skills.
Student Mentorship & Development:
- Identify and address individual student learning needs and provide necessary guidance.
- Encourage public speaking, debate, and creative writing activities to enhance language proficiency.
- Prepare students for assessments, competitions, and higher academic success in English.
Parental Engagement & Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and educational workshops.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Stay updated with the latest teaching strategies, literature, and language education trends.
- Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and maintain accurate student records.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).
Preferred Criteria:
- Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of English curriculum, literature, and best teaching practices.
Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire students.
- Proficiency in classroom management and student engagement techniques.
- Strong knowledge of English grammar, literature, and creative writing techniques.
- Ability to integrate technology, storytelling, and modern teaching approaches into lessons.
