Social Studies Teacher – Afternoon Session (Primary Section)

Job Overview:

The Social Studies Teacher – Afternoon Session (Primary Section) will be responsible for delivering interactive and meaningful lessons that help students understand their communities, environment, history, and cultures. The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching young learners and capable of making real-world connections that build awareness, curiosity, and responsible citizenship. The role requires adherence to CBSE curriculum guidelines and KHDA educational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons in Social Studies as per the CBSE curriculum.
  • Cover topics related to history, geography, civics, and environmental awareness in an engaging and understandable manner.
  • Use maps, stories, visuals, role-play, and multimedia to bring lessons to life.
  • Design lesson plans and assessments that promote inquiry-based and experiential learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student understanding through assignments, class discussions, and projects.

Student Engagement & Skill Development:

  • Encourage students to develop a sense of identity, culture, and civic responsibility.
  • Promote critical thinking, observation, and presentation skills through interactive lessons.
  • Support collaborative group work, class debates, and educational games.
  • Provide additional assistance to students requiring help in understanding concepts.

Classroom Management & Inclusivity:

  • Maintain a structured, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Apply positive behavior strategies and ensure inclusive participation for all learners.
  • Foster a learning atmosphere that encourages curiosity, empathy, and respect for diversity.

Parental Communication & Collaboration:

  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, academic exhibitions, and theme-based school events.

Professional Development & Compliance:

  • Stay informed on best practices in social studies education and CBSE updates.
  • Ensure full compliance with KHDA regulations and school policies.
  • Collaborate with peers to support cross-curricular integration and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Education, Social Science, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience at the primary level (mandatory).
  • Experience in a CBSE curriculum school is preferred.

Visa Status:

  • Candidates with Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa are preferred.

  • Strong understanding of primary social studies concepts and their real-life applications.
  • Ability to make learning interactive, visual, and culturally relevant.
