SST (Social Studies) Teacher (Middle Section)

Job Overview:

The SST (Social Studies) Teacher (Middle Section) will be responsible for delivering engaging and informative Social Studies lessons, covering history, geography, civics, and related subjects. The ideal candidate should be passionate about fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of the world among students. This role requires strong subject knowledge, interactive teaching methodologies, and compliance with KHDA educational standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Academic Instruction:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured Social Studies lessons for (Middle Section) students.
  • Develop lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and KHDA guidelines.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including interactive discussions, storytelling, multimedia, and project-based learning.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, and class activities.
  • Provide additional academic support to students who require further assistance.

Classroom Management:

  • Maintain an organized, disciplined, and positive learning environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to ensure student engagement and participation.
  • Encourage critical thinking, debate, and discussions on social, cultural, and historical topics.

Student Mentorship & Development:

  • Identify and address individual student learning needs and foster independent research skills.
  • Organize group projects, presentations, and cultural activities to enhance student learning.
  • Guide students in developing problem-solving and analytical skills related to social sciences.

Parental Engagement & Communication:

  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and academic workshops.

Professional Development & Compliance:

  • Stay updated with advancements in Social Studies education, global trends, and teaching methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and maintain accurate student records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).

Preferred Criteria:

  • Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of Social Studies curriculum, cultural diversity, and global perspectives.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong subject knowledge with the ability to make history, geography, and civics engaging and relevant.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in classroom management and student engagement techniques.
  • Ability to integrate technology, real-world case studies, and critical thinking exercises into lessons.
  • Strong organizational and lesson-planning skills.
