Physics Teacher (Secondary Section)

Job Overview:

The Physics Teacher (Secondary Section) will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Physics, fostering scientific inquiry, and enhancing students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should have strong subject knowledge, experience in experimental and practical applications of physics, and the ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods. This role requires adherence to KHDA guidelines and a commitment to preparing students for academic excellence and future STEM careers.


Key Responsibilities:

Academic Instruction & Curriculum Development:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive Physics lessons for the Secondary Section.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and KHDA educational standards.
  • Utilize experiments, simulations, and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced topics such as mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, optics, and quantum physics.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, quizzes, lab reports, and exams.
  • Prepare students for board exams, competitions, and university-level physics studies.

Practical Learning & Laboratory Work:

  • Supervise and guide students in physics laboratory experiments and practical assessments.
  • Ensure safety measures are in place while conducting physics demonstrations and experiments.
  • Encourage project-based learning and hands-on experimentation to deepen conceptual understanding.

Student Engagement & STEM Development:

  • Inspire students to explore physics beyond the classroom through research projects and case studies.
  • Guide students in robotics, coding, and engineering-related projects.
  • Encourage participation in science fairs, Olympiads, and physics competitions.

Classroom Management & Discipline:

  • Maintain a structured and stimulating learning environment.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to promote discipline and respect.
  • Encourage collaborative learning, problem-solving, and independent research.

Parental Communication & Collaboration:

  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, strengths, and areas of improvement.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and career guidance sessions.

Professional Development & Compliance:

  • Stay updated with emerging trends in Physics, research, and modern teaching methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and maintain accurate student records.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in teacher training and professional development programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).

Preferred Criteria:

  • Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
  • Experience teaching CBSE, IB, IGCSE, or similar curricula is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM education and physics applications in real-world scenarios.
