Job Overview:
The Activity and Pastoral Head will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of student activities while ensuring the emotional, social, and behavioral well-being of all students. This role is critical in shaping a holistic school environment that promotes student engagement, leadership, character development, and a strong sense of belonging. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for student welfare and enrichment.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Activities & Enrichment:
- Plan, implement, and supervise a comprehensive calendar of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, including clubs, competitions, field trips, talent shows, and events.
- Encourage student leadership and participation through initiatives like student councils, houses, and peer mentoring programs.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to ensure all activities align with the school’s values, curriculum, and KHDA expectations.
- Monitor the effectiveness of programs and gather feedback for continual improvement.
Pastoral Care & Student Well-being:
- Serve as the point of contact for student support, counseling, and behavior management, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
- Identify students in need of support and work closely with teachers, parents, and counselors to develop personalized care strategies.
- Address issues related to bullying, conflict resolution, attendance, and discipline in a compassionate yet effective manner.
- Promote mental health awareness, empathy, inclusivity, and character education through workshops, campaigns, and activities.
Parent & Community Engagement:
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student development, behavior, and participation.
- Organize school events and celebrations, ensuring strong engagement from the parent and wider school community.
- Foster a sense of school pride, identity, and community spirit through well-managed house systems, theme weeks, and cultural events.
Leadership & Compliance:
- Lead and mentor a team of activity coordinators, support staff, and volunteers.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and KHDA regulations related to student engagement and well-being.
- Prepare reports, risk assessments, and documentation for events and student behavior matters.
- Stay up to date with pastoral care trends, activity-based learning practices, and safeguarding protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
Experience:
- Proven experience in managing student activities and providing pastoral care, preferably in a school or similar educational setting.
Visa Status:
- Candidates must hold a Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa (mandatory).
Availability:
- Should be available to join immediately.
