Job Overview:
The Accountancy and Business Studies Teacher (Secondary Section) will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Accountancy and Business Studies, equipping students with essential financial literacy, business acumen, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate must have strong subject knowledge, a passion for teaching, and the ability to foster critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in students. This role requires adherence to KHDA guidelines and a commitment to student academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Accountancy and Business Studies for the secondary section.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and KHDA educational standards.
- Use real-world case studies, simulations, and technology to enhance business and financial education.
- Foster critical thinking, financial literacy, and business decision-making skills among students.
- Prepare students for examinations, competitions, and career opportunities in business and finance.
Student Engagement & Practical Learning:
- Encourage students to apply theoretical knowledge through practical exercises, business projects, and financial modeling.
- Organize and mentor student-led business clubs, entrepreneurship initiatives, and stock market simulations.
- Guide students in preparing for international business certifications and commerce-related competitions.
Classroom Management & Discipline:
- Maintain a structured and engaging classroom environment that promotes active participation and discussion.
- Implement effective classroom management techniques to ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
- Encourage students to analyze business trends, create business plans, and develop financial strategies.
Parental Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and career counseling sessions.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Stay updated with business and financial trends, economic policies, and educational best practices.
- Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and maintain accurate student records.
- Collaborate with colleagues and engage in professional development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).
Preferred Criteria:
- Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, business concepts, financial management, and entrepreneurship.
- Experience in teaching IGCSE, CBSE, IB, or similar curricula is an advantage.
