Job Overview:
The English Teacher (Primary Section) will be responsible for delivering interactive and engaging English lessons, fostering strong language skills, and encouraging a love for reading and writing among young learners. The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in early childhood language instruction, classroom management skills, and a passion for nurturing students’ linguistic and creative abilities. This role requires adherence to KHDA guidelines and a commitment to developing foundational English proficiency in students.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction & Curriculum Development:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver well-structured English lessons for the Primary Section.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum and KHDA educational standards.
- Focus on building vocabulary, phonics, reading comprehension, and sentence formation.
- Use interactive storytelling, rhymes, role-plays, and phonetic exercises to enhance language learning.
- Incorporate age-appropriate digital tools and learning resources to make lessons engaging.
- Assess, evaluate, and track student progress through worksheets, assignments, and oral assessments.
Student Engagement & Language Development:
- Encourage a love for reading and creative expression through class activities.
- Guide students in basic grammar, spelling, pronunciation, and sentence construction.
- Foster confidence in spoken and written English through group discussions, storytelling, and presentations.
- Provide additional support to students requiring language reinforcement.
Classroom Management & Student Well-being:
- Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure student discipline and engagement.
- Encourage collaborative learning, peer interactions, and group projects.
- Address behavioral concerns with empathy, patience, and effective conflict resolution strategies.
Parental Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, school events, and educational workshops.
- Provide recommendations for home-based language learning activities.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Stay updated with modern teaching methodologies in early English education.
- Ensure compliance with KHDA regulations and maintain accurate student records.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in teacher training and professional development programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).
Preferred Criteria:
- Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
- Experience teaching CBSE, IB, IGCSE, or similar curricula is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of child-centered learning approaches in primary education.
