Job Overview:
The ICT Teacher (Secondary Section) will be responsible for delivering engaging and up-to-date Information and Communication Technology (ICT) lessons, equipping students with essential digital skills, and fostering innovation and computational thinking. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge, a passion for teaching, and the ability to prepare students for an increasingly digital world. This role requires adherence to KHDA guidelines and a commitment to academic excellence in the field of technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver comprehensive and engaging ICT lessons for students in the Secondary Section.
- Develop lesson plans aligned with KHDA standards and the school’s ICT curriculum, covering topics such as:
- Computer fundamentals
- Office applications
- Internet safety and digital citizenship
- Programming (e.g., Python, Java, Scratch)
- Web development and basic networking
- Emerging technologies (AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity basics)
- Incorporate project-based learning, coding challenges, and real-life applications to enhance engagement.
Technology Integration & Student Engagement:
- Encourage students to use technology creatively and responsibly.
- Organize and mentor student participation in coding clubs, tech expos, and IT competitions.
- Promote critical thinking and innovation through app design, robotics, and game development activities.
Lab Management & Technical Support:
- Manage the ICT lab and maintain all systems and software in working condition.
- Ensure proper safety and usage guidelines are followed during practical sessions.
- Collaborate with the IT department to support digital learning platforms and school-wide tech initiatives.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
- Evaluate student performance through assignments, quizzes, practical assessments, and projects.
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain records of student achievements and progress.
- Support students who require remedial instruction or additional guidance in ICT.
Parental Communication & Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with parents to report student progress, achievements, and improvement areas.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, academic workshops, and school tech events.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with emerging ICT trends, teaching tools, and digital learning strategies.
- Ensure full compliance with KHDA regulations and ICT safety protocols.
- Participate in regular training and professional development programs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar role (mandatory).
Preferred Criteria:
- Candidates with Spouse/Own Visa are preferred (mandatory).
- Experience in teaching CBSE, IB, IGCSE, or similar curricula.
- Familiarity with Google Workspace, coding platforms, and EdTech tools is a plus.
