Job Overview:
The Primary Class – Social Studies Teacher is responsible for instructing students in the principles of social studies. This includes teaching about history, geography, civics, and culture. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment, encourage critical thinking, and develop students’ understanding of the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning and Instruction:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet curriculum guidelines and state requirements.
- Deliver engaging and effective social studies lessons to primary school students.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies.
- Create and enforce rules that encourage respect and a safe learning atmosphere.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student performance through quizzes, tests, projects, and assignments.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.

- Encourage student participation and interest in social studies.
- Develop activities and projects that make learning interactive and fun.

- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.

- Communication:
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events.
- Work with school administration and staff to ensure the well-being and academic success of students.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field.
- Teaching certification in primary education or relevant subject area.
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience in a primary school setting is preferred.
- Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of social studies content and teaching methods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and build a positive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes.
