Job Description: Computer Teacher
Job Overview:
The Computer Teacher is responsible for teaching essential digital literacy, foundational programming, and safe internet usage to students. The teacher will create hands-on, engaging lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and KHDA regulations, preparing learners for the digital demands of modern education.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach computing topics such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet Safety, and beginner-level programming (e.g., Scratch, Python).
- Plan and deliver structured lessons that align with the CBSE ICT curriculum.
- Use digital simulations, coding platforms, and project-based learning to support understanding.
- Assess students regularly through practical tasks, written tests, and digital presentations.
Student Engagement & Skill Development:
- Promote creative thinking, logical reasoning, and collaborative digital work.
- Guide students in responsible online behavior and cyber safety awareness.
- Offer differentiated instruction to support students at varying skill levels.
Classroom Management & Inclusivity:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and technology-friendly classroom or lab environment.
- Enforce rules around appropriate hardware and software usage.
- Encourage inclusivity and ensure all students can meaningfully engage with technology.
Parental Communication & Collaboration:
- Share student progress with parents and discuss digital skills development.
- Support digital events or exhibitions that involve parent participation.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Stay updated on educational technology tools and CBSE ICT curriculum changes.
- Follow KHDA guidelines and school policies related to digital instruction.
- Work with colleagues to integrate technology into other subject areas.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of ICT teaching experience in a CBSE curriculum school.
- Experience in managing school computer labs and applying project-based learning is preferred.
Visa Status:
- Candidates with Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa are preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, internet tools, and beginner-level programming.
- Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
- Ability to make technology fun, safe, and accessible to school-age learners.
- Passion for building digital literacy and future-ready skills in students.
