Job Description: Economics Teacher
Job Overview:
The Economics Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive economics lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum, preparing students for board examinations, and developing their analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and related economic concepts, along with experience in secondary-level instruction and the ability to connect theoretical knowledge to real-world applications, while ensuring compliance with KHDA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Instruction & Curriculum Delivery:
- Teach structured lessons in economics, covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, Indian economic development, statistics for economics, and current economic issues.
- Prepare students for CBSE board examinations and relevant competitive tests.
- Develop lesson plans that integrate theory, case studies, data interpretation, and practical examples.
- Use interactive tools, multimedia presentations, and real-world datasets to strengthen conceptual understanding.
- Design and evaluate assignments, projects, and examinations.
Student Engagement & Skill Development:
- Foster economic reasoning, data analysis skills, and critical thinking among students.
- Guide learners in interpreting economic data, preparing reports, and engaging in discussions on global and national economic issues.
- Offer remedial classes and differentiated instruction to address varied learning needs.
Classroom Management & Inclusivity:
- Maintain an inclusive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
- Ensure that academic integrity and school policies are consistently upheld.
- Adapt teaching strategies to cater to diverse cultural and learning backgrounds.
Parental Communication & Collaboration:
- Regularly update parents on student progress and areas for improvement.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, academic exhibitions, and school events related to social sciences and commerce.
Professional Development & Compliance:
- Keep up to date with CBSE curriculum updates, board examination patterns, and KHDA guidelines.
- Attend professional development sessions and contribute to collaborative initiatives within the humanities and commerce faculty.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- B.Ed. is mandatory (applications without this qualification will not be considered).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching economics at the secondary level in a CBSE-affiliated school.
Visa Status:
- Candidates with Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa are preferred.
