Job Title: Head of Teaching and Learning
Job Overview:
The Head of Teaching and Learning will be responsible for driving academic excellence, promoting innovative teaching strategies, and ensuring the highest standards of curriculum delivery across the school. The role requires strong leadership, pedagogical expertise, and a deep understanding of CBSE curriculum requirements and KHDA regulations. The ideal candidate will lead a team of educators, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and support professional growth across departments.
Key Responsibilities: Academic Leadership & Curriculum Oversight:
- Provide strategic direction for curriculum development and instructional practices across all grade levels.
- Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum aligned with KHDA standards.
- Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning practices to ensure consistency and excellence.
Professional Development & Teacher Support:
- Design and lead training programs and workshops to enhance teaching quality and classroom effectiveness.
- Mentor and coach teachers through classroom observations, feedback sessions, and individual development plans.
- Promote a collaborative culture that fosters continuous professional growth and reflective teaching.
Assessment & Academic Progress Monitoring:
- Oversee the development and implementation of formative and summative assessments.
- Analyze student performance data to drive academic interventions and instructional improvement.
- Ensure effective differentiation and inclusive teaching practices are in place.
School Improvement & Innovation:
- Lead academic audits, internal reviews, and contribute to school development planning.
- Stay updated with global education trends and integrate innovative pedagogical strategies.
- Collaborate with school leaders to foster cross-curricular learning and technology integration.
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure academic compliance with KHDA inspections, CBSE mandates, and internal policies.
- Prepare academic reports, strategic plans, and evaluation documentation as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Education (mandatory)
- B.Ed. (mandatory)
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching experience, with 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of leading curriculum planning and teacher development
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of CBSE curriculum and KHDA frameworks
- Strong expertise in pedagogy, instructional design, and educational assessments
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and lead teams toward continuous academic improvement
