Job Description: Primary Assistant Teacher

Job Overview:
The Primary Assistant Teacher will support the lead teacher in delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate classroom instruction. This role is crucial in ensuring a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment for young learners. The Assistant Teacher will assist with lesson preparation, classroom management, and provide individual attention to students as needed, in alignment with the CBSE curriculum and school values.


Key Responsibilities:
Academic & Classroom Support:
  • Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group academic support to students who require extra help.
  • Support classroom organization, including preparing teaching materials, setting up learning stations, and maintaining displays.
Student Engagement & Wellbeing:
  • Foster a warm, encouraging atmosphere that promotes student participation and confidence.
  • Help monitor student behaviour and intervene gently when necessary to maintain discipline.
  • Promote good habits related to hygiene, organization, and respectful peer interaction.
Administrative Assistance:
  • Help track student attendance, maintain classroom records, and support assessment preparation.
  • Assist during school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Ensure classroom supplies and resources are well-stocked and organized.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other staff members to support holistic student development.
  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required.
  • Communicate positively with students, parents, and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (mandatory).
  • A diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education or Teacher Assistant Training is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience working in a school environment, preferably in a CBSE setting.
  • Fresh graduates with a strong passion for teaching and working with children may also apply.

Visa Status:

  • Candidates with Spouse Visa, Own Visa, or Employment Visa are preferred.

Skills & Attributes:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to a dynamic classroom environment.
  • Basic computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office tools.
